Technical Assistance in Romania completed

Water Supply and Wastewater Masterplans for 5 Counties in Romania

In 2007 the contract for „Technical Assistance for Preparation of 5 Projects in the Environment Sector in Romania (EUROPEAID/123050/D/SER/RO - 2005/RO/16/P/PA/001-02)” was awarded to the Consulting Consortium ILF Beratende Ingenieure GmbH and Hydro-Ingenieure GmbH by the CFCU, Romania. The services encompass the elaboration Masterplans, Feasibility Studies, Cohesion Fund Applications and Tender Documents in the fields of water supply and wastewater discharge / treatment for 5 Counties (Prahova, Neamt, Buzau, Bacau, Iasi). Hydro-Ingenieure is responsible for wastewater related services. The project includes the design and hydrodynamic modeling of wastewater networks (modeled network length 18 km – 174 km) as well as the design of wastewater treatment plants (plant size 8,800 P.E. – 930,000 P.E.).

Romania’s improvements in the fields of water supply and wastewater

The Project represents one milestone in Romania’s implementation of the Sectoral Operational Programme Environment (SOP Env) which, inter alia, aims at improving the quality and access to water and wastewater infrastructure.
